My Facebook

Maret 1, 2010

I Love Books & Writing: Facebook is always considered private for me.  I set a rule that only a person I met in my life will be added or approved in my facebook account. Even if he/she lived in the same neighborhood, or came to the same high school, I will still ignore him/her if I don’t know him/her in personal. I can’t tolerate a stranger posting and commenting in my facebook space. Some consider it as a rude but for me it’s a choice of how you will treat your facebook account.

So here I am, having a facebook account with hundreds or so of friends that I knew in personal.  With some of them I have a lot of memory, but mostly just a reminder that he/she had ever scripted an experience in my youth hood.

Limiting friends doesn’t mean I don’t have concerns. However, I have couple. Baca entri selengkapnya »

GOLPUT vs ANTI PKS

April 11, 2009

GIGO, Garbage IN Garbage Out.

A REASON TO SUPPORT ABORTION

Maret 15, 2009

I Love Books & Writing: The uncovered medical clinics performing illicit abortions by the police made me think a lot. Couple years ago I received forwarded email that showed many awful aborted fetus’ pictures. The pictures made me sick. Did these should be-mothers have a heart? It was unimaginable way to die. My second impression was how brave these should-be mothers were. While the doctor stabbing the fetus inside the uterus, these females faced death risk too. Why females (single or married) have to risk their life to do abortion?

The most reason of a patient to do abortion will probably be the incapability to provide the future baby a good and healthy life economically and psychologically. If it is the reason, why not legalized the abortion not only for the sake of the baby but also for the sake of the should be-mother and the community? Baca entri selengkapnya »

Malaysia-Indonesia Quarrel Turns to Music

September 10, 2008

I Love Books Last Friday The Jakarta Post’s headline stunned me. I even read the article twice and took the newspaper (my office newspaper) home to share with others. What an unbelievable story, Malaysian music industry wants Indonesian songs restricted. Actually, I heard the rumor like a year ago, when blog community heated by Indonesian referee’s tragedy in Kuala Lumpur. But, I never imagine that this song-restricted gossip will officially be headline news in our national newspaper. Let me quote the article here, “The association of Malaysian music industry employees, Karyawan, has demanded the local authority limit the number of Indonesian songs on radio broadcasts. The association planned to propose to the Malaysian Minister of Energy, Water and Communications Minister, Shaziman Abu Mansor, a broadcasting ratio of 90 percent Malaysian songs and 10 percent Indonesian.” Baca entri selengkapnya »

INDEPENDENCE DAY CEREMONY

Agustus 16, 2008

My answer for a question what your plan for this long weekend was always returned in mocking sense, “Oh please, flag independence ceremony?”

Instead of supporting the pity comment with grumbling and mumbling, this year I see the flag ceremony obligation as a privilege. When could we sing our anthem before our flying flag? While we don’t achieve many awards that required our anthem sung abroad, August 17 is the moment. Baca entri selengkapnya »

Tanahku negeriku yang kucinta

TVRI KAMPRET

Agustus 16, 2008

I was filled with joy watched Maria Kristin Yulianti’s amazing performance for bronze medal single woman badminton Olympic when suddenly TVRI, the only official Olympic broadcast TV changed the show with first lady’s awarding ceremony for teachers in LIVE! Gosh, do they have priority at all?

We were not waiting for Michael Phelp get the seventh gold medal, we were waiting our badminton heroes and heroin fighting to make bloody-fighting Indonesian flag fly in prestigious Olympic games. Despite the mission of state-owned channel as government communication media, TVRI should have priority. I believed the first lady would not mind to broadcast her formal ceremony replayed. Love and Egalitarianism

Juli 25, 2008

Last week, I got flowers from someone that I had never expected to. Twice! Despite I never fond of flowers, this romantic-should-be-flower became kind of joke among my Kos friends. There were very long long out load laughing. Again, twice! This flowers sender was no other than used-to-be our landlord driver. He was such a careless driver that my landlord fired him after one-month work like two years ago. Our landlord called him a careless, crude, unbelievable driver he ever had in his life.

My Kos friends comments were exactly like my questions, why me, why now, after years? Apparently, he was our neighbor that we never realized and he was the one who teased me impolitely almost every night lately across our boarding house. One of the girls said, he chose me simply because my life style and my gesture seem very modest and reachable for him. Oh geez.

It seems the chit chatting shifted to the class of economy. We don’t need the Hindu caste system to feel, to see the caste created smoothly by the capitalism. The question is what’s wrong if he is a driver and a careless-uneducated-lack of wealth buddy? The girls accused me for not being egalitarian for turning down the dating offer.
