NICE TRY WORDPRESS!

Today I’d got happy New Year greeting from wordpres. It’s a surprise actually to get a greeting not only light saying “Happy New Year” but also the highlight of my blogging activity in 2010. The opening greeting by using “boeing analogy’ is kind of cool. If not mistaken, this is the first time wordpress ‘s new year greeting. It’s not that I can’t have the blog statistical information unless I got the greeting. I can just click wordpress to know my blog statistic. But the information coming with greeting is so industrious that wordpress reminds me having a abandoned blog. It’s been awhile since my last blog in August last year.
Of course for wordpress’s sake, it’s just a matter of survival strategy. Anti attrition strategy for the unprecedented pierce competition ever. But still, I love it. Nice try wordpress! You are awesome too!

FACEBOOK, A NEW LIFE STYLE?

I Love Books I joined Facebook on July but my account’s friend list never exceeded six friends until last Sunday when I found many excited old classmates being busy with Facebook. Alexa reported Facebook traffic in Indonesia is now on 6th rank exceeded Detik, Youtube and WordPress although still behind Friendster. It’s curious how Facebook became popular so quickly here?

Comparing to other networking sites, I think Facebook has been favorite due to its generous applications. Facebook could fulfill the netter’s demand to be narcissism by putting daily personal information in public wall. The trend of previous popular networking site however showed netters really want to publish as many pics or videos as they can while at the same time they want daily conversation readable publicly. The greeting words like ”Hi, what are you doing, or I was hanging out at the X club but I didn’t find you” were common statements put on the comment section on Myspace. Even in Friendster, people put daily chat on testimonials coloumn. Facebook could combine the best application of Multiply, Youtube, Friendster and Myspace at one page.

THE ENTRY TEST TO THE HEAVEN

I love Books When browsing articles about the unprecedented financial crisis recently, I found a short blog that remains me an old story of Entry Test to the Heaven. The blog was mistakenly tagged as finance but actually was about religion doubt written by an American novelist Garrison Keillor. Apparently, Keillor surprised with his Sunday Bible reading. He wrote, “The Scripture reading in church Sunday gave me a jolt — Exodus 32, which refers to the Chosen People wearing earrings, men as well as women, and I twitched when the lector read it. Yikes! Moses got his ears pierced? What else didn’t we know?”

The Keillor’s statement, however, is exactly what my brother spotted about 6 years ago. He said that the vast majority of believers don’t know exactly what been told in their scriptures. He then composed an Entry Test to Heaven to prove his hypothetic.
